North Central Sight Services, Inc. Continues Stellar Safety Record
Three Years With No Reportable Accidents

When the average individual thinks about people who are blind in a work setting, the immediate reaction might be – more liability; more accidents; higher insurance premiums.  In fact, just the opposite is the reality at north central sight services, Inc.

As of October 8, 2007, NCSS has gone 1,104 days without a reportable in-house accident. All of this while employing 58 people; sales projected in excess of $9,000,000 this year with 38 associates being legally blind. Add to the mix that we moved to new, unfamiliar facility in January of 2007. No problem, safety remains a core competency and concern throughout the organization. “I’m so proud of our excellent safety aware team.” Said Robert Garret, President/C.E.O. “We have an active safety committee that meets once a month, discusses safety issues, conducts inspections and from their input, corrective action is taken.” Said Garrett.

Four years ago, NCSS applied to the state for safety certification. It received the certification and for the past three years has realized a 5% insurance premium discount because of the certification.

On Monday October 8, the agency will celebrate this success with a company wide luncheon.
