| How to Keep Your Eyes Healthy |
- Eat a well balanced diet
- Take vitamins and medications as directed
- Stay Active / regular exercise
- Quit smoking
- Keep health conditions under control (blood sugar)
- Wear a brimmed hat and sunglasses when outdoors
- Take frequent breaks when working on the computer
- Improve lighting around the house
- Protect Eyes from injury
- Visit your eye doctor once every two years (unless told otherwise) Diabetics once every year or more for a comprehensive eye exam (dilated and intraocular pressures)
- Stay educated on the signs and symptoms
- Know your eyes and monitor your vision for changes
- Contact your eye doctor immediately if you noticed any of the following changes in vision:

- Sudden hazy or blurred vision
- Recurrent pain in or around the eyes
- Double vision
- Flashes of light
- Halos around lights
- Unusual sensitivity to light or glare
- Change in color of the iris
- Sudden development of persisting floaters
