Occupational Therapy
According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, there are over 4.2 Americans, aged 40 and older, who are legally blind or have low vision. There are many more millions of people who live with either glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, or other vision-thwarting conditions. Low vision or blindness may limit independence in and outside the home and result in having difficulty with daily tasks, safety, falls, reading, and accessibility issues.
Occupational Therapy services with North Central Sight Services, Inc. can help address and overcome these challenges by:
- Assessing functional visual impairments
- Training in use of adaptive equipment, techniques, and modifications
- Educating clients, caregivers, and family members
- Improving functional and independent living
Occupational Therapy starts with a simple referral from your ophthalmologist, optometrist, and primary care physician. Most insurances are accepted, HMOs may require prior approval.
